Amazon Seller Central Shiping Settings
So far we have to learn about amazon’s easy ship, self-ship. In this post, we will learn how to customize the shipping settings for amazon easy ship and amazon self-ship. I have given a detailed step by step description on how to customize the shipping setting for easy ship and self-ship in amazon seller central.
How to Update Shipping Rates In Amazon Seller Central For Easy Ship
Now there are two models given:
Per item / Weight Based in which shipping rates are determined per item or weight plus a fixed per-shipment charge.
Price Banded model in which the shipping rates are determined by the total amount of the order.
In per item/ Weight based you can charge shipping from customers per item or per 500 gms plus a fixed order charge.
Charge shipping From Customer per item
Go to the shipping column
Enter an amount in the first option in the shipping column defines a per order charge. You can enter a number from 0 to
In the next option select item from the drop-down and enter a price you want to charge as shipping per item.
For eg. If you enter an amount INR 50 in the first column (per order) and INR 50 in the second column (per item) and buyer places an order for an item quantity 2.
So total shipping charged from the customer is equal to INR 50 + ( INR 50 + INR 50) for 2 items
In per item/ Weight based you can charge shipping from customers per item or per 500 gms plus a fixed order charge.
So total shipping is equal to INR 150.
Charge shipping per 500 gms (Weight based)
Go to the shipping column
Enter an amount in the first option in the shipping column defines a per order charge. You can enter a number from 0 to
In the next option, select gms form the drop-down and enter a price you want to charge as shipping per 500 gms.
For eg. If you enter an amount INR 50 in the first column (per order) and INR 50 in the second column (per 500gms) and buyer places an order where the total weight of the package is 1100 gms.
So total shipping charged from the customer is equal to INR 50 + ( INR 50 + INR 50 +INR 50) for 1100 gms
First 500 gms = INR 50 will be charged
Next 500 gms = INR 50 will be charged
Go to the shipping column
Next 100 gms = INR 50 will be charged
If the total weight will be 1101 then also INR 150 will be charged ie. if 1 gm goes above the slab it will count to the next slab.
Next 100 gms = INR 50 will be charged
If the total weight will be 1101 then also INR 150 will be charged ie. if 1 gm goes above the slab it will count to the next slab.
So total shipping is equal to INR 50 = INR 150 = INR 200
You can use this model when your item dimensions and weight are accurate.
For eg you can define a price band from INR 0 to INR 500, INR 501 to INR 1000, INR 1001 and above and enter shipping rates for each band say INR 50, INR 100, INR 150 in the shipping rates column.
So when a customer makes the purchase of INR 999 the customer will be charged INR 100 as shipping charges.
You can do the same for local, regional and national shipments.
You should charge more shipping rates in regional than local and in national more than regional because amazon easy ship or any other courier company will charge you in this order.
You can read my post on amazon easy ship fees to know about each shipment region and how amazon will charge you for these regions so that based on that you can charge your customer.
At last click on save and your easy ship settings will be saved.
