What are undelivered and customer rejected orders?

Undelivered orders – When Amazon is unable to reach customer due incorrect address, damaged shipment, delivery attempted on a holiday or after business closing hours, the order is marked as ‘undeliverable’. Amazon reimburses shipping fee for all undeliverable orders.

Rejected orders – When Amazon is able to reach the customer but the customer creates a cancellation request after order shipment or refuses to accept the shipment upon delivery attempt, the order is marked as ‘rejected’

Understanding partial refund of amazon easy ship fees for customer rejected orders

Amazon reimburses shipping fee for rejected orders above the 8% of the Easy Ship units for the month. Upto 8% rejected orders is considered as cost of doing online business and such cases are not eligible to be reimbursed under this policy.

For eg The seller shipped out 50 units in a month and 10 returns are marked ‘Customer Rejected’ in that month.

The customer rejected units of the seller in this case is 10/50 *100 = 20%. As the threshold is 8% for rejected units, the seller will be reimbursed for 20%- 8% ie. 12% of the total units shipped for that month.

Total rejected units = 10

Total shipped units = 50

12 % of 50 = 6 units

So, in this case seller will be reimbursed for 6 units.

The reimbursement of all the eligible shipments will be processed on or before 15th of the following month.
